Ryan G.S. Au

I am the founder and principal attorney at Ryan G.S. Au, Attorney at Law, a Honolulu law firm focusing on personal injury, landlord-tenant evictions, construction law, home foreclosure rescue scams, real estate law and business disputes throughout Hawaii.

I am a 1994 graduate of Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, California and a 1997 graduate of the Hastings College of the Law at the University of California in San Francisco. I was admitted to the practice of law in Hawaii in 1998.

A strong supporter of mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), I co-authored a paper on ADR with Elizabeth Kent, the Director of the Hawaii Judiciary's Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution. The paper, "The Effects of ADR on the Legal System: A Long-Term View," appeared in the Hawaii Bar Journal in November 2007.

I offer my services as a volunteer mediator through the Mediation Center of the Pacific in the areas of family law, business law, and many other types of cases. I also provide pro bono legal services to the public through the Hawaii State Bar Association's Legal Line, volunteering at Legal Line Clinics during Law Week and providing legal assistance over the phone through the Legal Line Hotline. I also participate in the Junior Judges Project, assisting elementary school children develop good decision-making skills when faced with tough issues such as bullying, drugs and alcohol, and peer pressure.
