As the principal attorney at Ryan G.S. Au, Attorney at Law in Honolulu, I have been committed for over a decade to helping people injured in car accidents or recreational activities, resolving breach of contract disputes, and representing residential and commercial property owners in leasing and other matters requiring litigation. I have particular expertise in the areas of construction law and real estate fraud, representing residential and commercial property owners in construction defect litigation and helping victims of foreclosure rescue scams, deceptive broker practices, and other real estate disputes. Below is a brief description of my major areas of practice.

Personal Injury

Construction

Whether residential or commercial, construction projects represent huge investments for the property owner. When disputes arise along the way as to the scope of the project, methods of payment, or the quality of construction, every day's delay is money out of somebody's pocket. I represent homeowners and businesses in all manner of construction disputes, including construction defect litigation and claims involving the use of unlicensed contractors. Business Disputes

Businesses function through the operation of contracts and contractual relationships, and every transaction every day, whether with customers, suppliers, distributors, or vendors, is governed by the terms of some oral or written agreement. Because of this sheer volume of contract-based relationships, it is an inescapable fact of doing business that disputes will arise from time to time as to the interpretation or enforcement of a particular contract. When these conflicts arise, the key is to resolve them as quickly and efficiently as possible, so that a dispute in any one area of the business does not drain away valuable time, money and attention and wind up damaging the enterprise as a whole. Equally as important is that the dispute be resolved favorably, with your rights and interests adequately protected.

My practice focuses on negotiation, mediation, or arbitration as needed to resolve your dispute as amicably and efficiently as possible. However, when litigation is the best recourse for a favorable resolution, then I am a strong and effective advocate for your interests in the courtroom. I handle breach of contract disputes over goods, services, or payment across all industries and establishments on the island of Oahu.

Real Estate Fraud

Real estate fraud comes in many forms, from unfair and deceptive practices on the part of the real estate broker, to misrepresentation by parties or agents regarding the condition of the property and required disclosures. I make sure that you receive the benefit of your bargain and that real estate laws and regulations are properly followed in your property transaction. Also, in today's housing market, foreclosure rescue scams are proliferating and preying upon the people most in need of protection. Under the guise of helping distressed homeowners, unscrupulous companies are wrongfully taking title away from people who have worked for years to own the home of their dreams. I work to uncover and expose these scams for what they are and make sure you are restored to what is rightfully yours.
